Afghan man dies after IRGC-planted landmine explosion in Sistan and Baluchestan

An Afghan national, Rasoul Noorzehi, has died from injuries sustained in a landmine explosion caused by devices planted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the border region of Kalegan, Golshan County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, August 29, 2025, Noorzehi, approximately 31 years old, was critically injured when a landmine detonated in the Bache-Rahi Kalegan area of Golshan. He later died in hospital as a result of the severity of his wounds.
The independent news outlet Haalvsh reported that Noorzehi had been injured the previous day, Thursday, August 28, by an anti-personnel mine in the same area. The blast resulted in the loss of both his legs. Despite being transferred to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
