Fate of Kurdish man Ali Shiri remains unknown after arrest in Shahin Dezh

Iranian security forces have detained Kurdish resident Ali Shiri from Shahin Dezh (Sayin Qala) and transferred him to an undisclosed location. His family has not received any information about his condition or whereabouts.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Shiri, from the village of Quzlu-ye Hawshar in Shahin Dezh, was taken into custody four days ago, and his situation remains unclear.

Sources confirmed that on Friday, September 5, 2025, security forces detained Shiri and searched his home.

Family members’ attempts to obtain information about his situation have been unsuccessful, while state institutions have refused to respond.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest, his place of detention, or the charges brought against him.
