Abdullah Golestani, a Kurdish man from Bukan, has been re-arrested by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to an undisclosed location. More than a week after his arrest, no information is available regarding his fate or whereabouts.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Golestani was arrested on the morning of Thursday, October 9, 2025, by agents from the Ministry of Intelligence in Bukan.
Despite repeated inquiries from his family, the authorities have refused to disclose his location or the reasons for his detention.
The Ministry of Intelligence continues to deny responsibility or information regarding his situation.
Golestani had previously been sentenced in January 2025 by Branch 3 of the Urmia Court of Appeals to three months and one day in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state.”
He was earlier arrested on September 1, 2023, and sustained a spinal fracture under torture during his detention by intelligence agents. After a brief release, he was once again returned to the Intelligence Detention Center.
Golestani had also been sentenced in a previous case to a fine of 113 million tomans and one month of imprisonment, and was temporarily released after posting a one-billion-toman bail.
