Iranian security forces arrest Raouf Farkhi and Rahim Rahmani in Piranshahr

Raouf Farkhi and Rahim Rahmani, two Kurdish men from Piranshahr, have been arrested by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to a detention facility in Urmia. Their current situation and legal status remain unclear.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests were carried out at dawn on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Farkhi was detained at his home in Piranshahr, while Rahmani, from the village of Zangiavi in the same district, was arrested during a raid by intelligence agents.
Hengaw has learned that intelligence forces used drones over residential areas during the operation, apparently to intimidate families and nearby residents. Security agents also damaged the doors and windows of Farkhi’s home and confiscated personal belongings belonging to members of both families.
No information has been provided regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges the two men may be facing, or their current whereabouts.
