Third Kurdish Kolbar killed in 10 days by direct fire from Iranian Forces

Mehdi Sharifi, a Kurdish Kolbar from Baneh, was killed by direct fire from Iranian border guards in the Sardaw border area. He is the third Kolbar to be killed within the past ten days in the border regions of Baneh.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, October 5, 2025, Sharifi, 40, a father of one and resident of Kani Siw village in Baneh County, was shot dead at close range by forces of the border regiment without prior warning.
His body has since been transferred to a medical facility in Baneh but has not yet been handed over to his family.
According to data compiled by Hengaw’s Statistics and Documentation Center, over the past ten days, three Kolbars — identified as Qasem Azizi (43, father of two), Rebwar Mohammadzadeh (38, father of two), and Mehdi Sharifi (40, father of one) — have been killed by direct fire from Iranian border guards in the Baneh region.
