Three prisoners executed in Shiraz Central Prison

The Iranian authorities executed three prisoners, Jahanbakhsh Rakhshani, Mohammad Soltanpour, and Farzad Rasoulzadeh, in Shiraz Central (Adelabad) Prison following convictions on drug-related charges.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Those executed were identified as Jahanbakhsh Rakhshani, a 52-year-old Baloch man from the village of Chahaki in Rudbar County, Kerman Province, and father of two; Mohammad Soltanpour, a 36-year-old resident of Shiraz; and Farzad Rasoulzadeh, a 40-year-old Gilak man from Rasht.
Rakhshani had been imprisoned for seven years, Soltanpour for five years, and Rasoulzadeh for four years before their executions. All three had been sentenced to death by the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on drug-related charges following proceedings that, according to Hengaw, lacked transparency and fair-trial guarantees.
The executions have not been announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the Iranian Judiciary.
