Five prisoners, including three Lors, executed in multiple Iranian prisons

Iranian authorities executed five prisoners, including three Lors, in the prisons of Yasuj, Behbahan, Nishapur, Zanjan and Aligudarz. The five men, Abbas Beigi, Reza Gerayi, Mozaffar Rahmanpanah, Salar Shamsollahi and Bahador Rafiei, had been convicted in separate cases on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offences.”
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Beigi, a Lor prisoner, was executed in Yasuj Central Prison. He had been arrested on a charge of “premeditated murder” and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Gerayi, also a Lor prisoner, was executed in Behbahan Prison in Khuzestan Province. He had been convicted earlier on charges related to “drug offences.”
On the same day, Rahmanpanah, 26, was executed in Nishapur Prison in Razavi Khorasan Province. He had been arrested six years earlier on a charge of “murder” following an altercation with an alleged thief and was later sentenced to death.
Shamsollahi, 36, a Turkish prisoner from Khorramdarreh in Zanjan Province, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison. He had been detained around six years earlier on a charge of “murder” during a street altercation and was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Rafiei, 41, a Lor prisoner from Khorramabad, was executed in Aligudarz Prison in Lorestan Province. He had been arrested four years earlier on a charge of “premeditated murder” involving a hunting rifle during a dispute and was later sentenced to death.
State media, including outlets close to the judiciary, had not reported the executions of these prisoners at the time this report was prepared.
