Iran executes eight prisoners across the country

Iranian authorities have executed eight prisoners in the prisons of Arak, Qazvin, Qom, Yasuj, Borujerd, Tabriz, Bandar Abbas, and Semnan. The prisoners had previously been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences of three prisoners were carried out at dawn on Saturday, December 21, 2025, in the prisons of Arak, Qazvin, and Qom. Ferdin Khani, a resident of Arak; Amir Mohammad Jadidi, from Qazvin; and Kazem Sourian, from Qom, had been convicted of premeditated murder.
On the same day, three other prisoners were executed in the prisons of Yasuj, Borujerd, and Tabriz. All three had also been sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder. They have been identified as Fariborz Ghasemi, a Lor man from Yasuj; Ali Mohammad Koushki, a Lor man from Borujerd in Lorestan Province; and Ebrahim Mashayekhi, a Turkish man from Tabriz.
In continuation of the wave of executions that day, the death sentences of two additional prisoners — Reza Dastar and Vahid Pazouki — were carried out in the prisons of Bandar Abbas and Semnan on drug-related charges.
None of these executions have been announced by Iranian state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
