Kazem Azadeh and Nasser Azarm detained by intelligence agents in Mahabad

Iranian security forces detained two Kurdish residents of Mahabad, Kazem Azadeh and Nasser Azarm, and transferred them to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Azadeh and Azarm, both originally from the Khalifan district of Mahabad, were detained in the early hours of Monday, December 8, 2025, when intelligence agents raided their family home and arrested them with the use of violence.
A source familiar with the incident stated that the arrests were carried out without any judicial warrant.
Despite repeated attempts by the families to obtain information, security institutions have refused to disclose the men’s fate or whereabouts and have threatened the families to refrain from further inquiries.
No details are available regarding the reasons for the arrests or the current location and condition of Azadeh and Azarm.
