Three more Kurds detained in Mahabad as December arrests in Kurdistan reach 34

Government forces detained three Kurdish residents of Mahabad, Akam Sheikhah Marsheh, Iman Mohammadzadeh, and Hazhar Mohammadzadeh Aghdam, and transferred them to an undisclosed location, raising the number of recent detainees from the city to six.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the three individuals were arrested early on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Sheikhah, from the village of Qara Qeshlaq, and Mohammadzadeh Aghdam and Mohammadzadeh, from the village of Khorkhoreh, were taken from their homes without an arrest warrant.
Hengaw previously documented the arrests of Saman Qorbani, 29, from Yaltamer village in Mahabad, and Kazem Azdeh and Nasser Azarm from Khalifan, who were detained by IRGC Intelligence.
No information has been made available on the reasons for the arrests or on the whereabouts and conditions of these six Kurdish detainees.
Data from the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights shows that during the first 10 days of December 2025, at least 34 Kurdish individuals were detained across cities in Kurdistan. Only one has been released, while 33 remain in custody.
