One Iranian border guard killed, another injured in landmine explosion in Saravan

One Iranian border guard was killed and another injured following a landmine explosion in Saravan County, located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the Sirkan area of Saravan. Captain Hadi Sadidi, a border guard officer originally from Kalaleh in Golestan Province, was killed in the explosion. Another officer, Yousef Heydarali, was injured in the blast and transferred to hospital.
State-affiliated media reported that Hadi Sadidi died from the severity of his injuries after being taken to hospital, without providing further details about the circumstances of the explosion.
A local source told Hengaw that the landmines in the area were recently planted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as part of efforts to block the movement of Baloch fuel carriers (Sukhtbars).
