Three students from Iran University of Art arrested in Tehran

Three students from Iran University of Art, Pouyan Jamili, Sina Ghanimati, and Kiarash Najafzadeh, have been arrested by Iranian authorities and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests were carried out by plainclothes agents on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Pouyan Jamili had ranked first nationwide in the art track of Iran’s 2023 university entrance examination.
Informed sources stated that the three students were detained outside the university premises.
No precise information is currently available regarding the reasons for their arrest, the charges against them, their place of detention, or their condition.
