Sobhan Azizi and Omid Khorshidi detained by Iranian authorities in Saqqez

Iranian authorities have detained Sobhan Azizi and Omid Khorshidi, two Kurdish residents of Saqqez, in the latest wave of arrests in the city. The two men were taken into custody three days ago, and their fate remains unknown.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian government forces arrested the two residents in Saqqez on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Sources familiar with the case state that Iranian authorities carried out the arrests during a raid on their homes without presenting any warrant.

Authorities have not disclosed their current whereabouts, legal status, or any charges against them. Efforts by their families to obtain information about their situation have so far been unsuccessful.
