Turkish activist Yaser Ranjbar remains detained in Tabriz, whereabouts unknown

Ten days after the arrest of Yaser Ranjbar, a Turkish activist residing in Tabriz, no information has been made available regarding his whereabouts, health condition, or legal status.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Yaser Ranjbar was arrested by Iranian government forces in Tabriz on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Security forces refused to present any warrant or legal authorization at the time of his arrest.

No precise information has been provided regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him. Repeated efforts by his family to obtain information about his situation have so far been unsuccessful.
