Hengaw – Thursday, May 14, 2026
Iranian intelligence agents have denied Mohammad Maleki, a Turkish civil activist from Zanjan, any contact with his family since his arrest six days ago, while continuing to withhold information about his condition and whereabouts.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department agents raided Maleki’s home in Zanjan on Friday, May 8, 2026, and arrested him with the use of physical violence and beatings.
Informed sources stated that intelligence agents also threatened members of Maleki’s family during the arrest, while carrying out a search of the house and confiscating several of his personal belongings.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his exact place of detention. Repeated inquiries by his family to security and judicial institutions in Zanjan have so far gone unanswered.
