The Iranian Judiciary has sentenced Faezeh Salehabadi, a Mashhad resident currently held in Vakilabad Prison, to one year and three months in prison.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad convicted Salehabadi on the charge of “insulting Khamenei” and sentenced her to one year and three months in prison. Salehabadi, the mother of two children aged 8 and 13, has remained in custody at Vakilabad Prison throughout the proceedings.
The court acquitted her of the charges of “insulting Islamic sanctities” and “propaganda against the state.” Her defense hearing was held on April 7, 2026, and the case was referred to the Revolutionary Court on May 25.
Hengaw has learned that the case against Salehabadi was opened after she published an Instagram story. She was subsequently charged with “insulting Islamic sanctities,” “propaganda against the state,” and “insulting Khamenei.”
Authorities set bail at 4 billion tomans for her temporary release, but her family has so far been unable to secure the amount.
Security forces arrested Salehabadi at her home on February 9, 2026, before transferring her to the Women's Mosalla Police Station, the Revolutionary Court, and ultimately Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
