Mahnaz Eslami killed by former husband in Sirjan

Mahnaz Eslami was shot dead by her former husband in front of their child in Sirjan, Kerman Province, in a case of femicide. Informed sources said the suspect killed Eslami in retaliation for her decision to divorce him and demand payment of her mahr (dower).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the killing took place on Monday, June 29, 2026, on Saeb Street in Sirjan, where Eslami was fatally shot in front of their child.

The suspect was arrested approximately one hour after the killing.
