Salam Bahrami and Sarwar Bahrami remain in prolonged detention without charge at Dizel Abad Prison

Nearly four months after their arrest, Salam Bahrami and Sarwar Bahrami, two Kurdish men from Marivan, remain in legal limbo in the security ward of Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizel Abad Prison), where they continue to face security-related pressure.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Salam Bahrami and Sarwar Bahrami were arrested on March 29, 2026, while traveling in their private vehicle on the Ravansar-Kermanshah road. Intelligence Ministry forces detained them in a roadside ambush and immediately transferred them to the security detention facility inside Dizel Abad Prison.

Sources told Hengaw that the two men spent two months in solitary confinement in the prison's security ward, where they were subjected to intensive interrogations. During that period, they were denied phone calls, family visits, and access to an independent lawyer. After the initial interrogations concluded, they were transferred to the ward's general section, but their temporary detention order continues to be repeatedly extended.

Hengaw has learned that security authorities have accused the two Kurdish men of "collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party." The accusation is a longstanding and commonly used charge that Iranian authorities have systematically employed to suppress Kurds and political activists in Kurdistan.
