Abdolbaset Bapiri among those arrested in recent Oshnavieh crackdown

Hengaw has confirmed the identity of another person detained during Tuesday’s arrests in Oshnavieh (Shno) as Abdolbaset Bapiri, a Kurdish man whose fate and whereabouts remain unknown.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian Intelligence Department forces raided Bapiri’s family home in the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and arrested him without a warrant. He is from Kani Spi village in the Dashtbil district of Oshnavieh County.
Iranian authorities have not disclosed the reason for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention.
Hengaw previously reported the arrest of around 20 people in Oshnavieh in connection with the September 16 strike and published the identities of five of those detained.
