Hengaw : During 2020 dozens Kurdish Kolbars  and local tradesmen have been killed and wounded by direct shootings from the Iranian and Turkish armed forces.

 Based on statistics compiled by Hengaw Human Rights Organization's Statistics and Documentation Data Center At least 240 Kurdish Kolbars  and local tradesmen have been killed and wounded during 2020 which in this report an increase of at least 3 cases is recorded compared to 2019.

Despite the closure of borders for nearly two months due to Corona Virus outbreak number of killed and wounded Kolbars and tradesmen  has increased in 2020 compared to 2019. 

 Cause of death or injury: 

 Direct shootings from Iranian and Turkish Armed Forces: 199 cases (49 killed and 150 wounded) equivalent to 83% of total cases . 

 Natural disasters (cold weather , frostbite falling from heights, etc.): 20 cases (6 killed and 14 wounded) equivalent to 8.5% of total cases.

 Landmine Explosions : 5 cases (5 wounded) equivalent to 2.% of total cases

 Traffic and car accident: 13 cases (4 killed and 9 wounded ) equivalent to 5.5% of total cases

 Beatings and torture by the Armed Forces: 3 Case (3 wounded) equivalent to 1% of total cases 

Total: 59 killed and 181 injured

 Distribution by provinces: 

 West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province : 114 cases (40 killed and 74 wounded)

 Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province : 60 cases (14 killed and 46 wounded)

 Kermanshah Province (Kermashan): 66 cases (5 killed and 61 wounded )

 16 Kolbars  killed and wounded by direct shootings from Turkish Armed Forces 

 During 2020, and compared to previous years, the number of Kolbars  killed or wounded by direct shootings from Turkish Armed Forces on the borders of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province  has significantly increased.

 According to Hengaw’s statistics, at least 16 Kolbars were killed and wounded by direct shootings from Turkish Armed Forces on the borders of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province during 2020 , 6 of whom lost their lives and 10 others were injured .

 

 12 local tradesmen   killed and wounded on the roads

 According to Hengaw’s statistics, at least 12 local Kurdish tradesmen were killed and wounded on the roads of Kurdistan and other cities in Iran during 2020, 10 of whom lost their lives.

 Out of 12 tradesmen  who were killed and wounded  on the roads, 9 cases, equivalent to 75% of total cases, were killed and wounded by direct shootings from Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and 3 cases equivalent to 25% of total cases were due to traffic accidents caused during car chasings by law enforcement officers.

 

At least 5  underaged Kolbars killed and wounded

 According to statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Data  Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at least 5  underaged Kolbars were killed and wounded  during 2020. One of whom lost his life and 4 others wounded .
