22% of the executed Iranian citizens in the recent six months were Kurd

Hengaw: At least 239 Iranian citizens have been executed in the country’s prisons within the first half of 2017. According to reports by Iran Human Rights (IHR), 239 executions were carried out in Iran in the first six months of 2017. 12 executions have been carried out in public. The Hengaw, a human rights news agency had reported in recent days that 51 Kurdish citizens have been executed in the first half of 2017. Taking into account the statistics published by both agencies, 51 of the 239 executed citizens (22%) were Kurdish citizens. It is likely the number of executions has been more than this number, because some of the executions have been carried out in Karaj’s prisons and it was hard to know about their identities.
