A Kurdish-Iranian citizen arrested as flow of detentions hit Kurdistan

Hengaw – Another Kurdish citizen, accused of cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties, was arrested on November 3th, as numbers of detainees are on rise from Iranian Kurdistan in the past few months, said Hengaw reporter.   Iranian security forces arrested Jassim Omedi in the Kurdish city of Ilam.  According to the correspondent, Omedi’s family has not been so far informed of where their son was transferred to.   A new wave of detentions begun in Iranian Kurdistan in the past few months, especially after thousands of citizens celebrated the Independence referendum of Iraqi Kurds on September 25th, in Iran.   Hundreds of Kurdish people who attended the peaceful street gathering were detained later by Iranian intelligence forces.   Most of the detainees were released later on bail. Others were accused of being affiliated to one or another Kurdish political opposition parties based in Iraqi Kurdistan.
