Landmine explosion in Qasr-e-Shirin takes the life of a citizen

One of the demining personnel was seriously injured due to a landmine explosion in Qasr-e-Shirin city of Kermanshah province.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, a member of the demolition and demining personnel was injured in both hands and face due to a landmine explosion during the operation.
This deminer was transferred to "Abolfazl al-Abbas" hospital in Qasr-e-Shirin after being injured.
It is said that this 45-year-old man's left hand was cut off from the wrist area and his right hand from the fingers area due to the explosion.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, at least 28 citizens in the border areas of Ilam, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, and West Azerbaijan (Urmia) provinces have been killed and injured by landmine explosions, since last year, 10 of whom lost their lives.
