Persistent oppression on “Families pleading Justice”, Brother of one of the victims sentenced to Imprisonment and flagging

Hassan Amini, the brother of Mohammad Amini, who lost his life during the widespread protests in Sanandaj, has been sentenced to six and a half months of imprisonment and 40 lashes by the second Criminal Court of Bukan.
According to informations obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, July 6th, 2023, Hassan Amini, a resident of Sanandaj and a member of families pleading justice for their loved ones, was found guilty by Branch 101 of the second Criminal Court of Bukan on charges related to "disturbing public order." He has been sentenced to six and a half months of imprisonment and 40 lashes.
Hassan Amini was arrested on the evening of Friday, June 9, 2023, along with a group of families who have lost their loved ones during the widespread resistance in Sanandaj, Divandarreh, and Dehgolan. They were returning from a memorial ceremony honoring the martyrs of the resistance movement in the cities of Saqqez and Bukan. Subsequently, Hassan Amini was taken into custody by government forces and transferred to the central prison in Bukan.
Eventually, Mr. Amini was released on Saturday, June 16th, 2023, upon posting bail temporarily awaiting trial.
It is important to note that during his detention, Hassan Amini was denied access to legal representation, visitation from his family, and other fundamental rights.
Mohammad Amini, the brother of Hassan Amini and a resident of the Taqtaqan neighborhood in Sanandaj, tragically lost his life due to direct gunfire from government forces during the “Jin, Jian, Azadi”movement in Sanandaj on the 7th of October, 2022.
