During the same incident, his brother Khaled Qawami suffered severe injuries from sword attacks and had to be rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to a reliable source, this attack by the Salafist group took place on the family home of these brothers in the Abbasabad neighborhood of Sanandaj, with the justification of "apostasy and blasphemy." During the attack, no intervention was made by government and security institutions.
In recent years, Salafi groups in Kurdistan have been using Instagram and Telegram channels to spread their own interpretations of Islam. They are openly threatening the lives of ordinary citizens by issuing "fatwas" against them.
It is worth mentioning that despite the Iranian security institutions' stringent control over civil and political activities in the cities of Kurdistan, practically no measures are taken to deal with the threats of these individuals against the citizens' security.
