In Sarpol-e Zahab two young men detained and kept in uncertain status

Two young men from Sarpol-e Zahab, residents of Kermanshah (Kermashan) province, by the names Peyman Ranjbar and Erfan Moradi, have been detained by government forces and despite three weeks of detention their custodial status remains unknown.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, both Peyman Ranjbar, 23 years old, and Erfan Moradi, 24 years old, both from Sarpol-e Zahab, were apprehended by intelligence agency personnel 21 days ago and have had no contact or communication with their families since.
 

Informed sources from Sarpol-e Zahab state that intelligence agency forces arrested Peyman Ranjbar on the street and subsequently, during a raid on his residence, they confiscated his personal belongings while brutally assaulting his brother before taking him away.
 

On a similar situation, Erfan Moradi was detained at his family home, subjected to intimidation and violence by several intelligence agency personnel.
 

Peyman Ranjbar and Erfan Moradi were apprehended by government forces on Friday, July 28th, 2023. Despite continuous efforts by their families, no information regarding their whereabouts or conditions of detention has been made available, causing profound distress among these families.
