Hossein Helali, an MMA martial arts athlete hailing from the city of Shabestar, was apprehended by Iranian government forces one month ago and remains in custody. He was prohibited from departing the country during the height of the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, Hossein Helali, the MMA martial arts champion from Shabestar, has been under detention for a month and is presently incarcerated in Tabriz.
 

According to reliable sources, Hossein Helali, the champion of Asian martial arts, has been placed under a travel ban by Iranian governmental entities for roughly nine months. This restriction was enacted during the nationwide protests last year.
 

Hossein Helali, through the release of a video, expressed his support for the protesters and underscored, "I will not engage in any arena under the flag of the Islamic Republic."
 

In July 2023, Hossein Helali was apprehended by Iranian government forces in Shabestar and subsequently transferred to Tabriz prison. So far, there is no available information regarding the charges levied against this athlete.
