Arrest of Two individuals in Kashan and Iranshahr by Security Forces

A Baloch resident of Iranshahr, and Arash Moradi, a member of the "Gonabadi dervish"

 A Baloch resident of Iranshahr, and Arash Moradi, a member of the "Gonabadi dervish" community in Kashan, have been apprehended by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and their current whereabouts remain undisclosed.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Alireza Brahui, a 24-year-old resident of Iranshahr in the Sistan-Balouchistan province, was taken into custody.

Simultaneously, security forces detained Arash Moradi, a "Gonabadi dervish" residing in Kashan, while he was at his workplace in the city. During the arrest, the agents confiscated his personal belongings, which included his laptop and mobile phone.

As of the time of composing this report, no comprehensive information has been made available regarding the reasons behind their detention and the charges pressed against these two individuals. Their current whereabouts and custody status remain unknown.

It is worth noting that Arash Moradi, a Gonabadi dervish, had also been previously arrested in the year 2017 during the "Golestan Seventh" events and was subsequently sentenced to one year in prison. He was eventually released from Tehran prison after serving his entire sentence.
