At least seven Kolbars from the regions of Javanroud and Salas e Babajani sustained injuries as a result of direct gunfire from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran along the border strip of Nowsud.
According to a report received by Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, Sirwan Nadri, Keyvan Houshangi, Salah, Arvin, Mansour, Bakhtiar, and Shahriar, all with last name unknown, from Javanroud, were apprehended by the border forces of Nowsud following gunfire.
The condition of several of these Kolbars, who sustained injuries to their back, legs, and spine, is reported as critical due to the severity of their injuries.
Based on the data recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, during the month of October 2023, at least 30 Kolbars (borderporters) were killed or injured in the borders in Kurdistan region with 93.2% of these incidents involving direct gunfire from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
