Death Sentences for Two Inmates, Including a Juvenile in Shiraz and Chabahar prisons implemented

The death sentences of Adel Damani, a juvenile and a Baloch resident from the town of Pishin in Rask county was executed in Chabahar prison in Sistan and Balochestan province. Also Reza Rastkhiz, another inmate sentenced to death was executed in central prison of Shiraz, respectively. These two inmates had been sentenced to death on charges of homicide and drug trafficking.

According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on the early morning of Sunday the 26th of November, the death sentence of Adel Damani, a 25 years old residing in Chabahar, was carried out in the central prison of Chabahar.

As reported by “Halvash”, Adel Damani, arrested nearly nine years ago at the age of 16 during a collective clash on charges of murdering a resident of Zabol in Chabahar and subsequently sentenced to death. Adel Damani had been condemned to death after five years of detention by the designated Juvenile Court.

Simultaneously, the death sentence of Reza Rastkhiz, a 37 years old inmate in the central prison of Shiraz, was executed. The Iranian Human Rights Organization noted that Reza Rastkhiz had been detained three years ago on charges of drug trafficking and was sentenced to death.

As of the time of compiling this report, the execution of these inmates has not been announced in government affiliated media, especially those close to the judiciary.
