Mirza Ahmadi, a 43-year-old Kolbar from Baneh, was killed by gunfire from border regiment forces, marking the second such incident within less than 24 hours in the city.

According to a report obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mirza Ahmadi, a resident of the village "Hanjena," was fatally shot on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, during the early morning hours. The incident occurred on the border of "Zileh" in Baneh, with direct fire from the border regiment forces.

Hengaw sources reveal that Mirza Ahmadi, a married man and father of two children, was shot without prior warning. His body has not been released to his family, even after being transferred to Baneh Hospital.

 

Yesterday, another Kolbar, Shoresh Khargoushi, a 33-year-old from Salmas, lost his life due to direct fire from border regiment forces while working on the borders of Baneh.

According to data recorded in the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the last 10 months have witnessed the deaths of at least 20 Kolbars, including these two cases. These fatalities resulted from direct fire by government forces in the border regions of Baneh.
