Three Kolbars Injured in Baneh-Nowsud Border as Government Forces Open Fire

Soran Daneshmehr, Farshad Rostamnejad, and Yousef Choupani, three Kolbars from Paveh, were wounded by direct fire from government border forces in the border areas of Baneh and Nowsud.

According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on January 9, 2024, 19-year-old Yousef Choupani from Saqqez sustained a serious leg injury due to direct firing by border regiment forces at the "Hangazhall" border of Baneh.

Simultaneously, in the Nowsud border area in Paveh district, 33-year-old Farshad Rostamnejad from Shamshir village was seriously injured by a shotgun during firing by border regiment forces targeting a group of Kolbars.

Furthermore, on January 6, Soran Daneshmehr, an 18-year-old resident of Dasheh village in Paveh county, suffered a leg injury from a Kalashnikov bullet fired on the Nowsud city border.

As per records from the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the past year witnessed a significant surge in the killing and injuring of Kolbars due to the firing of government armed forces. In this period, 41 Kolbars lost their lives, and 292 Kolbars were wounded in incidents involving the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
