Mine Explosion Leads to Mutilation and Injury of Two Kurdish Individuals

Following a mine explosion, two individuals from Gilan-e Gharb city in Kermanshah province were injured and mutilated.

Following a mine explosion, two individuals from Gilan-e Gharb city in Kermanshah province were injured and mutilated.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, two individuals from Vizhenan rural district of Gilan-e Gharb were severely wounded and underwent amputation due to a mine explosion in the Ban Sarat region of Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah province.

As reported by a reliable source, one of these individuals immediately lost both legs and an arm after the explosion, and the other individual sustained grievous injuries to his facial area and eyes.

Citing the registered data at the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, throughout 2023, at least 7 individuals were killed due to mine explosions and other unexploded ordnance, while 20 more individuals sustained injuries or mutilations.
