Arrest of seven Kurdish activists in Baneh, Iran

Hengaw: On the eve of May 1, International Labor Day, at least seven labor and civic activists from Baneh called Hassan Ezati, Nishteman Rahmati, Saeed Mohammadi, Omar Soleimani, Parvin Abdollah Panah, Fateh Majidi, and Afshin Rahimi were arrested by Intelligence Forces of IRGC on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.  
 
Hengaw sources in Baneh reported that on Tuesday, April 26, Intelligence Forces rushed into the houses of these seven Kurdish activitists simultaneously and arrested them without any warrant. 
One of these seven citizens, Nishteman Rahmati, the wife of Saeed Mohammadi was released on the same day, and other six citizens including Hassan Ezati, who is in charge of Labor Union of Baneh, Parvin Abdullah Panah, a civic and women rights activist and the wife of Hassan Ezati, Omar Soleimani, 58, a labor activitist and former political prisoner, Saeed Mohammadi, 41, also a labor activitist and former political prisoner, Afshin Rahimi and Fateh Majidi, 64, an expelled teacher and a former Prisoner in Rajaei Shahr Prison of Karaj for 8 years, were all moved to the intelligence detention center of IRGC in Sanandaj. 
 
Hengaw has been informed that the arrest of these seven Kurdish activitists was with violence, and their mobile phones have been confiscated. 
 
At the time of writing, no information is available on the reasons of their detention and also the charges against them.
