Landmine blast injuresa civilian in Sardasht—seven cases during past three week

Hengaw : A landmine has exploded on the border with Sardasht, and at least seven civilians have been killed and injured by landmines on the borders of Iranian  Kurdistan in the past three weeks.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, a Kurdish citizen from the village of "Biran" in Sardasht district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province in Iranian Kurdistan , identified as "Sherko Mohammadpour", was seriously injured in his foot by a landmine explosion while grazing his sheep and was transferred to medical centers for treatment.

According to statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Data Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at least two civilians have been killed and five others injured in landmine explosions on the borders of Iranian Kurdistan in the past three weeks.
