Leyla Zarafshan Executed in Iran’s Sanandaj

HENGAW — Iranian Kurdish woman, Leyla Zarafshan, was executed early morning on Thursday (26 September) in Sanandaj central prison.

According to the information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Zarafshan was sentenced to death on charge of murder of her husband.

She spent the past five years behind the bars on the death row.

Hengaw learned that at least four other Kurdish inmates were executed earlier on Wednesday in Urmia, Western Azerbaijan province, on charges of murder or drug-related crimes.
