Kurdish trader fatally shot by security forces in Karaj

Damavand Kamangar, a 40-year-old Kurdish trader from Kamyaran, was fatally shot by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s security forces on the Karaj road.
According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Kamangar, a father of two from the village of Tafin, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024, at a hospital in Tehran.
A reliable source reported that Kamangar was targeted by security forces on Sunday, December 15, 2024, under the suspicion of transporting contraband goods.
Kamangar sustained severe injuries from three gunshot wounds and had been in a coma since the incident. Despite being transferred to a medical facility in Tehran for treatment, he ultimately passed away.
