Death sentence of three prisoners carried out in Lakan Prison, Rasht

In recent days, the death sentences of three prisoners—Mehdi Gilani, Mohammad Hossein Naderi, and Kianush Keifari— have been carried out at Lakan Prison in Rasht. They have been convicted in separate cases on drug-related charges by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Saturday, November 16, 2024, Mehdi Gilani, from Rasht, and Mohammad Hossein Naderi, 29 years old and from Lahijan, were hanged in Lakan Prison.
Additionally, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, Kianush Keifari, a 49-year-old resident of Anzali, was executed at the same prison.
Sources report that Kianush Keifari had been arrested for four years, Mehdi Gilani for three years, and Mohammad Hossein Naderi for two years, all on separate drug-related charges. They were ultimately sentenced to death by the judiciary.
As of the time of this report, the executions of these three prisoners have not been announced by state-affiliated media or judicial authorities in Iran.
