Prisoner hanged in Mashhad Central Prison

The death sentence of a prisoner, Abdolkarim Shokati Timouri, a resident of Saleh Abad in Khorasan Razavi province, was carried out at Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad Prison). He had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to drug-related crimes.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 35-year-old Abdolkarim Shokati Timouri, a resident of Saleh Abad, was executed at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.

The prisoner had been arrested two years ago on charges related to drug-related offenses and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Despite the significance of this event, no official announcement regarding the execution of this prisoner, who was also the father of two children, has been made by state media or media outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
