Mahsa Yazdani, the mother of Mohammad Javad Zahedi, a victim of the Women, life, freedom Movement, has been sentenced to endure 13 years of imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, recently, Mahsa Yazdani, the mother of a fallen protester, was sentenced by the First Revolutionary Court of Sari on charges of "insulting sanctities" and "inciting the people against national security." She was given two five-year sentences for the charges of "insulting the Supreme Leader," a two-year prison term, and a one-year prison term for the charge of "activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran," amounting to a total of thirteen years of incarceration.

With invoking the accumulated sentence article, Mrs. Yazdani's harshest sentence of five years is enforceable.

Mahsa Yazdani was detained by security forces in Sari, the provincial capital of Mazandaran, on the 22nd of August 2023, and subsequently transferred to Sari Central Prison.

This mother of a young victim was ultimately released on bail, amounting to one billion and five hundred million tomans, temporarily until the conclusion of the judicial proceedings, on October 26.

Mohammad Javad Zahedi Saravi, the 20 years old son of Mahsa Yazdani, was fatally shot at close range by security forces during the Jin, Jian, Azadi movement on September 22nd, 2022.
