Iranian border guards shot and wounded Five Kurdish “Kolbars”

At least five Kurdish Kolbars( cross border porters), Hiva RahimPanah from Saqqez, Kamal Habibi from Sanandaj, Omid Moradi from Marivan, Hadi, and Mohammad, were shot directly by Iranian border guards at the Nowsud border.

According to a report received by the Hongaw organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Sunday, March 10th, 2024, Kamal Habibi, a Kolbar from the village of "Hashamiz" in Sanandaj, was shot and injured on the left hand by the Iranian government forces in the border area of Nowsud. He was subsequently transferred for medical treatment to Nowsud Health Center.

Simultaneously, the Iranian border guards rolling rocks down hill where Kolbars crossing and resulted in severely injuring Omid Moradi another Kolbar from Marivan. He was taken to medical facilities in Nowsud for treatment.

On the early hours of today Monday, March 11th, two Kolbars, Hadi, 31 years old, and Mohammad, were also targeted directly from border guards at the Nowsud border and sustained injuries.

Additionally, on Friday, March 8th, Hiva RahimPanah from Saqqez was shot and wounded direct by the  Iranian border guards at the Hengawzhal border in Baneh.

According to sources familiar with the incident, Hiwa RahimPanah was shot at close range in the leg and brutally assaulted after being detained by government forces. He was then transferred to medical centers for treatment.
