Ali Zarghami, a 52-year-old kolbar and father of three from Takab city, was fatally shot by Iranian border regiment troops at the Saqqez border.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday midnight, March 3, 2024, border regiment troops stationed at the Mishyaw border of the Sarshiv district of Saqqez opened fire on a group of kolbars, resulting in Zarghami's death.
A trusted source confirmed that Zarghami was shot in the leg, leading to his death.
Zarghami, originally from Sari-Bagh village in Takab County, resided in Saqqez and was married with two children.
Based on the data registered at the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least four kolbars and local tradesmen were killed on the Kurdistani borders in February 2024, with 63 more kolbars injured.
