Pediatric Specialist Arrested After Protesting Execution by Iranian Security Forces

Mehrshad Kalini, a pediatric specialist in the city of Lordegan, Chaharmahal-o-Bakhtiari province, was arrested by security forces in the city after protesting against execution sentences and was transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Mehrshad Kalini, a pediatric specialist residing in Lordegan, was arrested by security forces while protesting against death sentences on a street in Lordegan and was taken to an undisclosed location.

Mehrshad Kalini was peacefully protesting against execution sentences on one of the streets of Lordegan, holding a banner featuring images of Khosrow Besharat and Mahmoud Mehrabi, prisoners sentenced to death, with the writing 'No to Execution'.

As of the time of this report, his fate and whereabouts remain unknown despite the family's efforts.
