Four Kurdish Individuals Sentenced to a Total of 16 Years in Prison by Iranian Judiciary

Four Kurdish individuals, including two elderly people named Osman Delsoz, 66 years old, and Suleiman Salek, 73 years old, along with Hajar Delsoz (Abdul Rahim) and Akam Khizirzadeh, both aged 30, have been collectively sentenced to a total of 16 years in prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Osman Delsoz, aged 66, from Piranshahr, Suleiman Salek, aged 73, from the village of "Qaragol" in Bukan, Hajar Delsoz, and Akam Khizirzadeh, both aged 30, from the village of "Ziwake" in Piranshahr, were sentenced by Branch 102 of the Piranshahr Criminal Court on charges of "membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.".

Suleiman Salek received a 10-year prison sentence, while Osman Delsoz, Hajar Delsoz, and Akam Khizirzadeh were each sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Suleiman Salek was arrested on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, and Osman Delsoz, Hajar Delsoz, and Akam Khizirzadeh were arrested on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, by Iranian Intelligence forces. They were temporarily released from prison after two months, upon posting heavy bails, pending the conclusion of proceedings.
