Kurdish Kolbar Fatally Shot by Iranian Border Guards at Close Range

At the Bastam border of Saqqez, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province, Hemin Ahmadi, a Kurdish Kolbar and father to an 8-year-old daughter, lost his life due to direct fire from Iranian border regiment forces.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 45-year-old Hemin Ahmadi, a resident of the village of "Karizeh" in Saqqez district, was fatally shot while engaged in goods transportation across the border.
Hengaw sources indicate that Ahmadi was struck by a Kalashnikov bullet fired from a mere one-meter distance, hitting him in the stomach area close to the heart.
The deceased leaves behind a wife and an 8-year-old daughter.
Statistics compiled by Hengaw reveal that, during April 2024, at least 4 Kolbars lost their lives, and 33 sustained injuries in the Iranian Kurdistan borders. 92% of these cases involved Kolbars being killed or wounded by direct fire from border regiment forces.
