Two Kolbers Killed and Four Others Injured on the Borders of Nowsud and Marivan

Nazem Safari, a Kolbar from Sarvabad, Kurdistan Province, and Ehsan Nowroz, a Kolbar from Gilangharb, were killed by direct fire from the Iranian Border Guards while on the Nowsud and Marivan borders, respectively. Four other Kolbars have also been arrested and beaten by these forces.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024, Iranian Border Guards stationed in the village of Dezavar opened fire on a group of Kolbars, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Nazem Safari, a resident of Novin village in the Sarvabad district.

According to informed sources, Nazem Safari was struck in the chest by two Kalashnikov bullets. In a separate incident, on Monday, July 22, 2024, 25-year-old Ehsan Nowrozi, a Kolbar from Gilan-e-Gharb in Kermanshah Province, was killed by direct fire from Iranian Border Guards at the Marivan border. His body was buried in his hometown on Friday, July 26, 2024.

At 4 a.m. yesterday, four Kolbars from Desheh village in Paveh, Kermanshah Province—identified as Mohammad, Behrouz, Delyar, and Hessam—were arrested and severely beaten by Iranian Border Guards at the Nowsud border. They were later transported to medical centers for treatment of their injuries.
