Border guards shoot and injured Kurdish Kolbar at Iran's border

Iran's border guards shot and injured Rezgar Hassani, Kolbar from Saqqez, while transporting goods at the Hengazhal border region of Baneh, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Wednesday, October 15, 2024, Rezgar Hassani was shot directly by border guards while he and a group of other kolbars were transporting goods along the border. He sustained serious injuries and was transferred to medical facilities in Saqqez for treatment.

Sources report that Hassani was shot in the lower back, causing significant damage to his spinal cord. He is currently receiving treatment in the ICU at Shafa Hospital in Saqqez.
