Kurdish Kolbar Killed by Direct Fire from Iran’s Border Guards in Sardasht

A Kurdish Kolbar from Mahabad, identified as Ebrahim Ahmadnejad, was killed by direct gunfire from Iran’s border guards border regions of Sardasht, West Azerbaijan Province (Urmia).

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Friday, October 25, 2024, border guards opened fire on a group of Kolbars at the Sardasht border and as a result, Ebrahim Ahmadnejad was killed instantly.

Hengaw sources indicate that Ahmadnejad was shot directly in the abdomen with a Kalashnikov without prior warning from the border forces.

His body was transferred to the Sardasht forensic office and has not been returned to his family as this report is being published.
