Female prisoner executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

Maryam Kaviani, a Lor woman from Khorramabad, was executed at Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsilon Prison) after being sentenced to death for premeditated murder.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, February 1, 2025, her execution was carried out in Khorramabad Central Prison.

Sources report that Kaviani had been arrested and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran for murdering her husband.

As of the time of this report, Iranian state media and judiciary-affiliated sources have not publicly announced this execution.

According to statistics recorded by Hengaw’s Center for Documentation and Statistics, at least 30 women were executed in prisons of Iran throughout 2024.
