Report on the execution of two prisoners in Qom and Arak Prisons

The death sentences of two prisoners, Qasem Saraei and Mehrdad Asgarabadi, who had been convicted of drug-related charges and premeditated murder, were carried out in the central prisons of Qom and Arak.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Thursday, March 6, 2025, the execution of Qasem Saraei, a 30-year-old resident of Kavousieh Qaleh Hasan Khan, Tehran, was carried out at Qom Central Prison (Langarud Prison).
Saraei had been arrested three years ago on charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Additionally, in the early hours of Saturday, March 1, 2025, the death sentence of Mehrdad Asgarabadi was carried out at Arak Central Prison.
To date, the news of execution of these prisoners has not been announced in the state media, particularly those associated with the judiciary.
